Frequently Asked Questions And Trouble Shooting

If I break them can they be repaired?
Yes, we have a full service and repair department with all parts needed to include lenses; frames, batteries, motherboard, camera lens, SD cards or any replacement part needed right here in the US so your VRE can give you many years of service. Turn around is normally one week or less from the day we receive them. All needed repair items must be sent to the Alexandria address where the repair station is located.

Are they water proof?
No, what a lot of hunters are doing to assist with water protection is to wrap a piece of thin plastic or cellophane over the SD card slot and USB plug slot while in hard rains, or they wear a full rim hat (boonie cap).

How long does it take to charge them?
The first three charges should be 8 to 12 hours, thereafter, depending on how low the battery is should only take 3 to 4 hours or less for a full charge.

Can I get extra cards?
Yes, we have extra cards available or you can purchase them local.

Are there any other products similar to these on the market?
Yes, we are seeing more and more generic brands and imitations, those that we have tested have very inferior electronics installed. They do not last or they record a very low quality of video and have no service and support or repair station in the US. If it does not have the Sportsman Logo, ask where the repairs facility is located. Many that we have tested do not even have a reset micro switch

Trouble Shooting

Both lights are now on but won't do anything.
Unit may have been disconnected from computer improperly or SD card removed while videoing. Use a small paper clip and reset the system with the micro switch and re-format card

The green light comes on but won't let me video and then won't allow me to turn off.
The SD card may have been damaged by either touching the contacts or accidental ejection during operation. Replace Card.

Most Common Problems Caused By The Following.

What can be done with the static noise when all is quiet while recording?
This is due to high mike gain, lower volume during playback.

System won't turn on
Most likely the battery is dead. Charge unit. If this doesn't charge, try charging the system with computer to be sure thar your 110 charger was working. Be sure glasses are in off position to charge. If nothing happens, unit is broken, return for repairs.
